Our Mission::The Mallige Institute of Nursing functioning under RGUHS, draws its Philosophy from the philosophy and policies of the university. The faculty of nursing assumes responsibility for teaching research and services and recognizes the need for participation in all there by teacher and student.We believe that the individual, from an early age, learns to adopt to this environment, where she/he develops awareness and achieves participation as a member of a family, community, society. Each individual possess his/her own unique personality and characteristics, reflecting internal and external factors which in turn affect the rate and extent to which movement towards self actualizations is realized.We believe that the goal of professional nursing is to assist the individual, her family and community more towards there goals can be best achieved through the use of the nurse – patient relation the content of a responsive health care delivery system sensitive to the cultural, religious and socio – economic patterns of the society. Education is a change in behaviour engaged in through a mutual sharing process between the teacher and student, which best occurs as an organized fashion in an environment conducive to questioning and the problem solving approach. To enhance the learning process, the faculty and students incorporate knowledge from th behavioural, biological and physical science in the content of sequentially planning organized curriculum.Our Objectives::The college of Nursing endeavors to develop a nurse:-1) Who is professionally competent in meeting the nursing needs of the individual and the Community for care during illness and in the conservation of health.2) Who is able to demonstrate competency in the skill and techniques of nursing based on concepts and principles from selected areas of physical, biological, and behavioural sciences.3) Who is a responsible professional person as an individual and member of the health team and as a contributing member of the society.4) Who is capable of seeking opportunities for continual growth as a person, citizen and a professional.5) Who is capable of functioning at the beginning level of teaching and management in the health care setting.6) Who is aware of and practice moral and ethical values in their personal and professional life.
